Bottrop Kustom Kulture

This weekend the HepCat-crew went to Germany and Bottrop Kustom Kulture. Some of you know that every year since 2003 the Airport "Schwarze Heide" in Bottrop turns into one of the biggest Kustom Kulture Shows in Europe. Car Clubs & Lone Wolfs from all over Europe come to show their Hot Rods, Kustom Cars and Cool Motorbikes. And so did we. we went there with our large tent and lots of stuff, clothes, books, shoes, records and everything you need to keep up the Kustom Kulture-lifestyle.

It all went very well in the beginning, but on saturday there was this terrible storm. The storm took our large tent and throw it away as if it was a "hankie". That was when we decided to go back to sweden!

Red Wing Shoes

We are now pleased to present Red Wing Shoes. These legendary shoes and boots, born in teh year 1905 in Minesota. For more than 100 years, Red Wing Shoe Company has been crafting purpose-built work footwear for specific jobs. From the factory floor to the construction site, from refineries to railroads, on oil rigs and docks, today’s modern craftsmen trust Red Wing to deliver premium quality work boots and shoes with the features, fit, and service required for their demanding jobs.
Red Wing work boots are crafted with skill by people who take the time to make sure each pair lasts and protects - like the fine tools they are. Every product we make is manufactured under stringent Red Wing quality standards to withstand the toughest work environments.
Work is our work. We sell Iron Ranger and Postman.

Iron Ranger: Classic 6" styling with double layer leather, toe cap, leather heel pocket and a Nitrile cork sole create this unique look. Featuring premium Black or Amber Harness leather, chrome hardware, speed hooks, Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality.

The Mesabi Iron Range lies in northern Minnesota, a rugged and remote area. The local residents are proudly known as Iron Rangers, individuals with a sense of adventure and a determined personality. The work boots worn into the iron mines had to be as tough as the demanding conditions. The Iron Ranger boots were built with a double layer of leather over the toe to provide the miners an extra measure of safety. The heel pocket, a boot feature designed to provide extra support, was moved to the outside of the boot. This design change eliminated a seam, and provided a smooth and comfortable one-piece surface on the inside of the boot.

Postman: The 101 was known as the postman’s shoe. Designed to meet Postal Service requirements, they were a simple, but sturdy, polished, black dress oxford. It was their sturdiness and underfoot comfort that would serve America’s mailmen well. As evidence, millions were sold. The Black Chaparral leather and the black cushion crepe, wedge sole combine to yield a classic look.

In the 1950’s policemen still walked their beats and the postman walked his mail route. They needed comfortable and sturdy footwear for the eight hours spent on their feet. In 1954, Red Wing responded with style #101, a sturdy black oxford with a moldable insole. It could be polished to meet their uniform requirements, but tough enough for everything their day encountered. The 101 would go on to be part of the Red Wing brand for 46 years and sell over 2 million pairs. It became one of the best selling styles in company history.

Here we see our very good friend, pinstripingartist von Sven in his Amber coloured Iron Ranger.
