True Fit - A Collected History of Denim

TRUE FIT
A Collected History of Denim

They came from the most miserable and dangerous working environments
to conquer the most famous catwalks in the world – advancing from
functional and rustic work clothes to the hi-fashion status symbols worn today.

The book, True Fit – A Collected History of Denim, is the story of jeans’ genesis
and evolution. We are present at the birth of the garment in the mid-1870s and
follow its evolution a hundred years forward in time. The account of the
history of jeans also reveals that the garment makes up an integral part of
American heritage.

LVC - 1936 Type I Jacket

The jacket first appeared around 1905, and it was meant as a protective piece to accompany rugged denim pantaloons. The original Levi's 506XX jacket was made from 9 oz. denim and referred to as a "blouse" until the late 1930s, when it officially debuted as a jacket in the company's catalog. This single-pocketed, buckle-back jacket became known as the "Type 1

DENIM DENIM DENIM - WE LOVE IT

Bure is finding some new denim for a customer from the jeans box at HepCat Store.
Lots of gold at one of south Swedens sharpest denim store. As we also got a great record section for vinyl and CDs it gets more interesting that Bure is on his free time drummer of the famous instrumental surfband Langhorns and in his younger days he was drumming in The Sinners... another famous band. Denim & Rock'n'Roll comes good together.

We carry a lot of interesting brands like Redux, Indigofera, Blue Blanket, Rising Sun,
Pike Brothers, Lee 101, Levis Vintage, Eat Dust, Big John, Nezumi, 3sixteen, Wrangler
and a lot more...

Levi's Vintage Clothing - BING CROSBY TUXEDO

In 1951, the world famous American crooner Bing Crosby was denied entrance into a Canadian hotel because he and his friend were dressed completely in denim. Although the Hotel management eventually recognized Bing and made an exception because of who he was, the story of the incident traveled fast. Friends of his back home contacted Levi Strauss and Co. and the designers immediately developed a custom denim tuxedo jacket for Bing so that he would never have problems wearing Levi’s® Jeans, even in fancy establishments.

For Spring Summer 2014, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing is reproducing this famous piece of Levi’s® history and making a limited run of 200 jackets. All of the details are true to the original.

TELLASON - UNION MADE DENIM

TELLASON - US DENIM

Tellason jeans are made from the best denim in the world and are designed for the guy who cares about quality, authenticity and durability. The White Oak Cone selvage denim is cut and sewn in San Francisco, USA. Founders Tony Patella and Pete Searson are committed to an artisan approach and to honor the rich denim history of San Francisco. These jeans are simply beautiful.

Tony Patella & Pete Searson Story

We have been friends for two decades and have always had an affinity for all things well crafted and authentic.  After working in the apparel industry for 20 years, it was time we took things into our own hands and made something of our own-  something that stood up to our personal waterline, so to speak.  A proper pair of men's jeans was the answer so we took it from there and went out to make a jean that mattered. What we came up with was a range of jeans we are proud of: great fits, beautiful fabric from Cone Mills' White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina that is cut and sewn in San Francisco, California. We had our eye on the best denim shops in the world and we are happy to say that many of them have found a place in their store for Tellason!

WE JUST LOVE THE BRAND

A/B P.I Hagberg

Check out these quality selvedge jeans - made in Sweden!

My ambition when I started this project was to produce high quality jeans in Sweden. The denim production we once had disappeared in the late 70's and early 80's along with much of the other clothing manufacturing.

My first task was to find someone with the skills and means to manufacture high quality jeans. In Borås, the former textile center of Sweden, I found a small, modern factory run by an enthusiastic team. They had the required skill and means to manufacture high quality jeans, and this convinced me that my ambitions would be fruitfull.

Next on my list was to find fabrics and trims, preferably locally made. Japan is quite far from Sweden but that is where I found the denim I decided to use. I wanted it simply because of the superb quality. Some of the trims are made here, but more importantly, it is here in Sweden that we manufacture our jeans.
One style is available. We call it the H60, a regular tapered fit in either 19 or 12 oz. selvage denim. I’m happy to have quality jeans made in Sweden once again, and very proud to be a part making them. I hope you like them too. /Per-Ivan Hagberg
